Legal & Compliance Manager (Real Estate Platform)

Cana Consulting is partnering with a Singapore-based real estate fund manager with a growing portfolio of industrial and logistics assets, backed by institutional investors. This is a key in-house hire to support the platform's legal and compliance needs as the business scales.

Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the senior legal & compliance point of contact for the platform, working closely with external counsel on property and transactional matters while owning the day-to-day legal and compliance function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and negotiating property lease agreements, asset management agreements, and service/procurement contracts
• Managing financing documentation and banking-related matters
• Building and maintaining the compliance framework, including MAS regulatory requirements
• Leading risk management processes
• Liaising with and managing external counsel on property and transactional matters
• Supporting broader legal and governance matters as the platform scales

Requirements

• 6–8 years PQE, with in-house or law firm experience in real estate, funds, or REITs
• Prior exposure to a REIT, real estate fund, or investment manager strongly preferred
• We are open to speaking with candidates who have no real estate background, but have experience working in a MAS regulated entity
• Strong contract negotiation skills, particularly around leases and asset management agreements
• Familiarity with MAS regulatory requirements for real estate/fund structures
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-scaling environment with direct exposure to senior leadership
