Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including commodity sale and purchase contracts, service agreements, logistics contracts, and shipping documentation.
Provide legal support to Trading and Commercial teams on day-to-day transactions, contract negotiations, and legal risk management.
Advise on shipping, international trade, charter parties, cargo claims, Incoterms, and related legal matters.
Manage disputes, arbitration, litigation, and coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters, including trade sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), anti-money laundering (AML), and corporate governance.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the commodities trading industry and recommend appropriate actions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused legal solutions that support business objectives.
Requirements
2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
Experience in commodities trading, shipping, international trade, commercial law, or a related industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, contract negotiation, and legal risk management.
Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Commercially minded, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, international business environment.
