About the Company

Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a Legal Associate with 57 years of post-qualification experience to join its legal team. The role will support the firm's trading, investment, and business operations across multiple asset classes and strategies, working closely with investment professionals, compliance, and external counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documentation, including ISDAs, CSAs, prime brokerage agreements, custody agreements, confidentiality agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Provide legal support across trading and investment activities, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative strategies.
  • Advise on regulatory, contractual, and legal risks related to fund operations and investment activities.
  • Support fund launches, restructurings, and ongoing fund governance matters.
  • Work closely with compliance on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Liaise with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions as required.
  • Assist with legal aspects of corporate matters, including entity structuring, board resolutions, and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 57 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a financial institution, hedge fund, or asset manager.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with derivatives documentation and financial markets contracts.
  • Solid understanding of hedge fund structures, trading strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction (e.g., UK, US, Singapore, Australia).
