What are we looking for

We are looking to hire junior to mid-level Associates, qualified in a common law jurisdiction, to join our Construction & Projects, Energy & Resources Practice in our Singapore office.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a well-established law firm focusing on front-end transactional work for construction, energy and infrastructure projects. Alternatively, the candidate has worked in a well-established law firm with experience in transactional matters and a keen interest in our area of practice.

The team is recognised as one of the leading practices of its kind and offers in-depth expertise in every aspect of the construction and energy industry hence you can expect to have exposure to complex projects in a challenging and fast paced environment.

The Role Will Involve

  • Advising clients from the earliest pre-construction phases ranging from project feasibility and structuring to contract drafting and administration.
  • Drafting and negotiating transaction documents for Oil & Gas, Power and Renewable and other Infrastructure projects across Asia.
  • Advising on sustainability related legal issues across Asia, including renewable energy, import/export of electricity and trading of carbon credits/certificates.
  • Working with local counsel from all across Asia for cross-border projects.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with 1 to 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Relevant experience in an established law firm with sound foundation in construction law or front-end project transactional work or general transactional work.
  • Commitment to technical excellence and delivering outstanding client service.
  • Possesses initiative, drive and commercial acumen, and can work well both independently and in a team.
  • Good research and drafting skills.
  • Keen interest in the infrastructure, energy and sustainability sectors.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language (such as Mandarin, Japanese or Korean) is an added advantage but not a pre-requisite.
