Legal Associate - Dispute Resolution and Litigation

Job Description & Requirements

Collyer Law LLC is looking for a corporate associate (up to 3 years of PQE) with experience and interest in the practice area of Dispute Resolution. We are an award-winning boutique Singapore law firm that is poised well for further growth.

This role is suited to candidates who are keen to gain exposure to high stakes disputes in a structured and hands-on environment with close mentorship.

Key responsibilities /attributes of role

You will be involved in the full spectrum of litigation and arbitration work for private corporations, UHNW families, and emerging growth companies and the innovation economy. We are best known for our idea-to-exit support for technology companies and venture investors.

You must have an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet, and take a commercial view in advising clients.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Assist in handling litigation and arbitration matters
• Conduct legal research and support preparation of written submissions
• Draft correspondence and assist with preparation of pleadings and affidavits
• Participate in client meetings and case discussions
• Support preparation for hearings and trials
• Conducting oral advocacy in hearings (where appropriate and depending on experience and comfort level)
• Contribute to knowledge development and occasional business development initiatives

Key requirements include:

• Singapore qualified
• Up to 3 years post-qualification experience in a top-tier Singapore law firm or boutique law firm with similar level of exposure
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Experience in managing and executing high volumes of work, with an interest in harnessing technology to develop and implement systems that streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
• Excellent technical skills with a practical approach to problem-solving
• Ability to handle pressure and work to challenging deadlines
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and collegiate law-firm environment, and to work both autonomously and as part of a team as and when required
