Legal and Trade Control Compliance Officer

Role Summary:

The Legal & Trade Compliance Officer will oversee security trade control compliance, business contract reviews, dispute management, and corporate compliance programs for the Southeast Asia region. This role collaborates closely with regional stakeholders and global Headquarters to ensure strict alignment with regulatory requirements, group policies, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal & Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and business contracts. Support legal dispute resolution and manage contract administration records.

• Corporate Compliance & Data Protection: Drive corporate compliance initiatives, including anti-trust and anti-bribery policies. Oversee Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) responsibilities, conduct risk assessments, and deliver compliance training across the SEA region.

• Security Trade & Export Control: Manage trade compliance operations across Southeast Asia. Handle end-user screening, verification, export licensing, and SAP export control administration (material classification, release controls).

• Governance & Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with HQ Legal and Export Control teams for high-risk transactions. Conduct trade control training for sales teams and prepare regional compliance reports.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Law, International Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs regulations, international trade, or contract review/management (in-house or law firm experience).

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with SAP export control functions and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Competencies: Strong legal acumen, analytical thinking, excellent communication, and awareness of geopolitical impacts on international trade.
