Job Description

S64 is the preeminent alternatives fintech and solutions partner to the wealth management industry across EMEA and APAC.

We enable private banks, wealth managers and intermediaries to deliver private markets with institutional grade robustness and repeatability. We also enable private markets managers to scale private wealth distribution across these regions through best-in-class structuring, lifecycle execution and enterprise technology.

Whilst significant proportion of what we deliver is white labelled and sits behind the brands, systems and processes of our partners, S64 is the operating infrastructure powering private wealth access to private markets across EMEA & APAC.

Our Team

Our team is diverse and multi-disciplined with talented professionals working across the breadth of technology, structuring, operations and sales. Headquartered in London, S64 has a global presence with offices in Luxembourg, Madrid, Dublin, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Sydney, and Melbourne.

Opportunity

S64 is hiring an APAC Lead, Legal & Compliance, based in Singapore, to support activities in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and South Korea, including cross‑border marketing in the region. The role covers both legal and compliance responsibilities, working closely with distribution, technology, platform operations, other legal and compliance and global colleagues to maintain consistent standards across regions.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Provide practical compliance advice on APAC regulatory requirements and the implications of business decisions.
  • Maintain a regulatory change process covering circulars, notices, guidelines and consultations across MAS, ASIC, and other relevant authorities.
  • Lead coordination of all APAC regulatory interactions, including onsite inspections and audits, ensuring thorough preparation, organised execution, and timely closure of post‑review actions.
  • Oversee cross‑border marketing and distribution controls and escalate jurisdiction‑specific questions to external counsel when needed.
  • Review APAC‑targeted marketing materials, investor communications, DDQs and product collateral to ensure they meet regional regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee regulatory licensing and notification requirements for APAC entities and individuals, ensuring timely renewals and accurate submissions.

Compliance Monitoring & Oversight

  • Create and run the APAC compliance monitoring plan, defining scope, cadence, evidence expectations and reporting.
  • Implement S64's global compliance processes, tools and registers in APAC (including AML/KYC, conflicts, complaints, risk incidents and supporting registers).
  • Maintain the APAC view of S64's global risk framework, including updates to the risk register, RCSA inputs, thematic risks and remediation tracking.
  • Test controls and perform second‑line reviews, recording findings and required actions.
  • Manage the relationship with third‑party compliance partners in APAC, ensuring expectations are clear, deliverables are aligned with S64's standards, and regulatory insights from these providers are integrated into the regional compliance framework.
  • Escalate material issues promptly and monitor closure.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams in the UK and Luxembourg to ensure APAC remains aligned with global standards. Share insights, coordinate on cross‑regional risks, and contribute to a consistent, resilient global compliance framework.

Reporting

  • Produce clear compliance reporting for senior management covering monitoring results, incidents, breaches, key risks and remediation progress.
  • Coordinate external reporting obligations and maintain accurate records and audit trails.

Legal (Commercial, Corporate, Governance & Product Support)

  • Provide day‑to‑day legal support on commercial, operational and product‑related matters across APAC, coordinating external counsel for jurisdiction‑specific advice.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, technology/platform arrangements, NDAs, distribution‑related agreements, outsourcing agreements and intercompany documentation.
  • Support product and platform development by assessing legal risks including and related to data usage, operational resilience commitments and client‑facing materials.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters for APAC entities, working with company secretarial providers as needed.
  • Support dispute management and incident response, including documentation, regulator considerations and coordination with external counsel.
  • Provide legal input on regulatory filings or notifications where required.
  • Conduct structured legal risk assessments for new initiatives and regional developments.
  • Support HR on employment law questions, contracts, policies and sensitive personnel matters, engaging local counsel where required.

Advisory & Training

  • Deliver targeted training to ensure APAC teams understand relevant legal and compliance expectations.
  • Promote a culture where employees raise concerns early and know how to escalate issues appropriately.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and possess:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in law or a related field.
  • 5–10 years experience in legal and/or compliance within financial services
  • Knowledge of APAC regulatory requirements and the ability to operate across multiple jurisdictions, including EMEA and NA.
  • Experience running compliance monitoring plans and oversight of outsourced compliance providers.
  • Strong experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
  • Experience working in alternatives, private markets, or a multi‑jurisdictional asset‑management environment is preferred.
  • Beneficial but not required: qualified lawyer in a local APAC jurisdiction.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder and time management skills, and a commercial and risk-aware mindset.

Why S64

S64 offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of private markets, technology, and institutional distribution at a time of structural change.

You will be part of a firm that operates behind the scenes of some of the most sophisticated investment platforms globally, helping bring private markets to scale without compromising on quality or control. Roles at S64 offer early responsibility, global exposure and the chance to develop deep expertise in a complex and evolving market.
