About Our Client
Our client is an established investment management platform looking to appoint a Legal and Compliance Associate to support its Singapore investment team.
While the title covers both legal and compliance, the role is predominantly legal in scope, with a strong focus on legal advisory, documentation, transaction support and investment-related legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support across the public markets investment lifecycle
- Support legal due diligence, transaction execution and post-investment matters
- Draft, review and negotiate investment-related agreements and commercial contracts
- Advise investment professionals on legal risks, transaction structures, securities regulations and governance matters
- Work with external counsel on legal documentation, regulatory updates and transaction-related matters
- Support internal legal processes, documentation standards and governance frameworks
- Provide light compliance support on investment guidelines, mandate restrictions and pre-/post-trade matters where required
- Assist with restricted lists, watch lists, conflicts and related internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related discipline
- 3 - 6 years of relevant legal experience with a strong understanding of securities regulations, investment documentation and fund structures
- Prior experience collaborating with investment professionals and external counsel highly advantageous
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiation of investment-related and commercial agreements
- Commercial, eloquent, agile, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Any exposure to investment compliance or trade surveillance would be advantageous, but not mandatory
