[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer in the School of InfoComm Technology.
[What you will be working on]
The school is looking for full-time lecturer to teach modules in the domain area of:
- Software engineering
- DevSecOps
- Cloud services
- Cloud deployment (Kubernetes, Terraform, etc)
- Cloud architecture
The candidate will be assigned to teach Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) classes in the area that he / she is a subject matter expert in. Training will be provided for domain areas that candidates are unfamiliar with.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop teaching and assessment materials, conduct lessons and facilitate learning for both the PET and CET learners
- Develop and maintain new/existing teaching curriculum. This includes regular review of existing curriculum and making recommendations on areas of improvement that would enhance students learning, performance, and employability
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments in technologies and emerging trends.
- Handle administrative work relating to teaching.
- Supervise and mentor students in competitions and consultancy projects
- Support student learning through consultation and mentorship
- Identify and establish new collaboration opportunities with industry partners for curriculum collaboration, CET programme initiatives, and consultancy projects
- Work on industry or consultancy projects
- Organise and lead overseas study trips, immersion programs, and student exchange initiatives
[What we are looking for]
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, terraform, cloud services and/or deployment.
- Committed to stay updated with industry advancements and integrating new technologies into teaching.
- Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both youths and adult learners.
- Ability to design engaging curriculum, developing materials and delivering classes.
- Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.
- Possess wit, innovation, initiative and strong communication skills.
- Relevant professional certifications will have added advantage, e.g. Kubernetes Application Developer, OpenShift Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate.
