Job Description

[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer (Outreach & Marcomms) in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.

We are seeking a dynamic, creative and forward-thinking Lecturer to join the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies (HMIS). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about storytelling, stakeholder engagement and creating meaningful impact through education.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and elevating the School's brand, bringing to life the transformative impact of our programmes, students and initiatives. Working closely with academic and industry stakeholders, you will develop and execute innovative outreach, marketing and communication strategies that connect with prospective students, industry partners, alumni and the wider community.

Beyond teaching, you will have the opportunity to drive high-impact projects, build strategic partnerships, showcase student and staff achievements, and contribute to the growth and visibility of a vibrant, interdisciplinary school that is preparing learners for a rapidly changing world.

[What you will be working on]

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:

  • Social Sustainability
  • Project Management & Multidisciplinary Collaborations
  • Facilitate and deliver CET programmes in areas such as: communication and influence, stakeholder engagement, project management, design thinking, human-centred innovation, customer experience

Outreach and Marketing Communications

  • Develop and implement outreach and marketing communication strategies to enhance the School's visibility, attract prospective students, and showcase its programmes, initiatives and achievements.
  • Create engaging content across digital and print platforms, manage the School's social media presence, and support student recruitment activities such as open houses, roadshows, talks and outreach events.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements to strengthen engagement and impact.

[What we are looking for]

Essential pre-requisites relating to years of experience, skills, knowledge and attributes

  • Passion for outreach, marketing communications and stakeholder engagement, with a strong interest in promoting the School's programmes and achievements.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, social media management and audience engagement strategies, with the ability to develop compelling stories and campaigns.
  • Experience in establishing and managing partnerships with educational institutions, industry partners, alumni, community organisations and other stakeholders to support outreach and recruitment efforts.
  • Relevant sector knowledge or experience in the arts, culture, media, communications or community sectors, particularly those aligned with the School's diploma offerings, will be an advantage.
