Lecturer (Mechatronics) / School of Engineering
[What you will be working on]
- .Conduct teaching for fulltime diploma students and parttime adult learners and discharge all associated academic responsibilities.
- Develop and deliver curriculum, courseware, and elearning modules for fulltime and parttime programmes in areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Subtractive Machining, CAD/CAM/CAE applications, Robotics, Machine Vision, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence. Knowledge in Machine Learning and Hybrid or Electric Vehicle (HEV/EV) technologies would be an added advantage.
- Plan, lead, and manage projects with industry partners, supervise student projects, and collaborate with industry stakeholders in related engineering domains.
- Leverage IT resources and multimedia platforms to support effective lesson delivery.
- Counsel, coach, and mentor students, including supporting student competitions, career guidance, and talent development.
- Undertake academic administration and committee work, and support outreach activities, local and overseas community projects, and study trips.
- Contribute to the holistic development of students, including career readiness and leadership, and demonstrate a genuine interest in engaging and sharing knowledge with both youth and adult learners.
[What we are looking for]
- Qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline, with 3-6 years of relevant industry experience. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of machining process design, including conventional manufacturing as well as subtractive and additive manufacturing.
- Proficient in 3D modelling and 3D printing, with experience in engineering design for manufacturing using CAD/CAM/CAE software applications.
- Experience in Industrial Automation, Machine Vision and Robotics.
- Familiarity with Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies exposure to AI, Machine Learning, and HEV/EV technologies will be an advantage.
- Selfdriven and independent, with strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional environments and manage multiple tasks.
