The School of Design at Temasek Polytechnic is looking for a dynamic and industry-engaged Lecturer in Interior Architecture & Design who can bring the realities, possibilities and innovations of industry practice into the learning environment.
This role is ideal for a design practitioner or educator who enjoys translating real-world industry experience into meaningful, practice-based learning. You will play a key role in developing Continuing Education and Training(CET) courses, supporting programme operations, teaching adult learners, and strengthening lifelong learning in interior architecture and design. The successful candidate will also contribute to the teaching of subjects in the Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design, supporting full-time students in their learning journey.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver high-quality teaching for CET programmes in areas related to interior architecture, interior design practice, spatial design and the built environment.
- Facilitate engaging, applied and learner-centred lessons for adult learners with diverse professional backgrounds and experiences, including the delivery of evening classes.
- Conduct workshops, studio-based learning, critiques, consultations and project reviews.
- Develop learners capabilities in translating professional knowledge, design concepts, and technical skills into practical, industry-relevant outcomes.
- Assess learner performance through assignments, projects, presentations and other appropriate assessment methods.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to support learners professional development and skills upgrading.
- Contribute to the teaching of subjects in the Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design for full-time learners.
Curriculum Development
- Design, review and update CET curriculum to ensure alignment with current and emerging industry practices.
- Develop course materials, learning resources, assessment rubrics, and project briefs.
- Drive the development of new CET courses, short courses, and customised training programmes.
- Coordinate CET-related matters, including course planning, scheduling, learner support, assessment, quality assurance and programme review.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth programme delivery and continuous improvement.
Industry Engagement and Programme Development
- Build and maintain strong links with industry partners, professional practitioners and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify industry training needs and contribute to the development of responsive CET programmes.
- Facilitate industry-based projects, guest lectures, professional sharing sessions and collaborative learning opportunities.
- Drive the development and marketing of CET initiatives to grow outreach and industry engagement.

We are looking for passionate individuals who bring strong professional experience, industry currency and a genuine interest in teaching and developing learners.
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least 7 years of experience in the built environment sector.
- Strong knowledge of industry practices, project workflows and current developments in the interior design and built environment fields.
- Experience in teaching, training, curriculum development, workshop facilitation or professional development programmes.
- Experience working with adult learners, industry professionals or CET programmes.
- Ability to translate professional practice into meaningful, applied and industry-relevant learning experiences.
- Strong communication, facilitation, mentoring and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading teams, managing projects or running a design practice.
- A strong industry network and experience in industry collaboration, consultancy or professional engagement.
- Relevant professional accreditation, certification or professional membership would be an advantage.
