[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Common Business Programme in the School of Business & Accountancy.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct high-quality workshop-style lessons and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) full-time students and Continuing Education and Training (CET) adult learners
- Develop and review innovative teaching and assessment materials, ensuring curriculum remains current, engaging, and aligned with industry trends to enhance student employability
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments as well as emerging trends across diverse business and digital domains, with a commitment to continuous upskilling and cross-training as curriculum needs evolve
- Handle essential administrative duties related to teaching, module management, student grading
- Support student holistic development through academic consultation, pastoral care, and mentorship in local/international competitions and industry consultancy projects
- Actively support school outreach events and recruitment initiatives
- Identify and establish strategic collaborations with industry partners for curriculum enrichment, internship placements, and CET training opportunities
- Organize, lead, and manage overseas learning journeys, study trips, immersion programs, and student exchange initiatives
[What we are looking for]
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in business, finance, analytics, or digital product design
- High proficiency in industry-standard tools (e.g., Excel, modern UX/UI design software), with a strong interest in integrating AI-powered tools into business applications
- Commitment to staying updated with evolving financial regulations, market trends, and technological advancements, with a drive to integrate these into the classroom
- A deep interest in teaching, mentoring, and inspiring both youth (PET full-time students) and adult learners (CET continuing education)
- Eagerness to design engaging curricula, develop data-driven case studies, and deliver impactful lessons that seamlessly bridge theory and industry practice
- Self-driven and independent, with the agility to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary academic team
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex quantitative and digital concepts using innovative, engaging, and witty teaching methods
Relevant professional certifications will have an added advantage
