Lecturer (Big Data Analytics) / School of Informatics & IT
[What you will be working on]
- Conduct fulltime and parttime teaching in areas related to Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Data Management, and other foundational ICT modules.
- Deliver mathematics modules (e.g. calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics) contextualised to IT applications.
- Design, develop, maintain and review curriculum, course materials and assessments, and recommend improvements to enhance student learning outcomes, performance and employability.
- Develop students capabilities in project work, including elearning and selfdirected learning.
- Coach and mentor students to support their learning and development.
- Support the School's initiatives through participation in outreach programmes, committee work, projects and events.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least two years of relevant industry experience, preferably in Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Management, Data Storytelling, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and/or Text Analytics.
- Familiar with analytics, programming and data platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, KNIME, Alteryx, Snowflake, and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure).
- Demonstrated competence, keen interest, and experience in teaching mathematics and ITrelated subjects.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with the capability and interest to work with teenagers and young adults.
- Possesses good written and oral communication skills.
- Able to support publicity and outreach initiatives.
