Key Responsibilities
- Regularly engage with key regional stakeholders to align the regional business priorities with the global learning and talent strategy and priorities.
- Through the team's talent agenda and existing global talent processes gather and analyse data to identify gaps and opportunities for development and discuss findings with regional and global teams to ensure effective alignment and integration.
- Design and deliver engaging and relevant global learning solutions for diverse audiences, partnering with external suppliers where required and ensuring alignment with existing content that is available globally.
- When required lead the design and delivery of team development and strategy days to drive higher performance and build cohesive teams across the region.
- Provide direct support to partners and regional leadership, working in collaboration with Partner Relations, to facilitate coaching arrangements.
- Drive and support the building of effective everyday management and leadership habits. Enable team effectiveness initiatives as part of the Global agenda and strengthen management and leadership skills to support high-performing teams across the region.
- Ensure that learning administration support delivered from shared services is of a high quality and aligned with APAC operational processes (with a global-first standardisation mindset) and in compliance with regional and regulatory requirements.
- Provide coaching and feedback to the Learning and Talent Advisors and Senior Advisors when working on projects together in the global team, helping to facilitate their professional growth. Be a role model for the firm's values, both within the team and across wider HR and business services teams.
- Oversee the delivery and impact of the Global Early Careers Curricula in the region in collaboration with the Early Careers Programme Lead and other key stakeholders ensuring that mandatory requirements are tracked and reported.
- Provide project management and design support to the Global Learning and Talent strategic priorities, ensuring effective implementation and adoption across the APAC region.
- Contribute to any reviews of global talent programmes set by the Snr Manager Talent (Global). Draw insights from metrics to enhance learning and talent initiatives and to make commercial decisions about future investments, ensuring programmes deliver value for money and the required impact.
- Hold budget management responsibility for the regional allocation of learning and development costs, ensuring this aligns with global processes.
- Oversee contracting and negotiations with key external suppliers in the region and globally, in alignment with global requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports to regional and global leadership as required, including updates on regional learning initiatives, programme impact and emerging capability needs across APAC.
- Work in partnership with Business Development colleagues to support the development of lawyers client relationship and business development capabilities, aligning global learning initiatives with the firm's client growth and key account priorities.
- Support the implementation and embedding of the firm's performance management framework and performance coach role by developing capability in areas such as feedback, coaching conversations, objective setting and development planning across the region and globally.
- Oversee regional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements where applicable, working with office managers and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulatory obligations while aligning CPD activity with broader development priorities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experienced learning and development professional (experience in Manager/ Business Partner level) with experience of working in professional services environments.
- Demonstrated skills in facilitating and designing learning curricula and leadership programmes using the most up to date methodologies and technologies, tailoring to specific audiences.
- Proven track record in partnering with external suppliers to source high quality learning solutions and managing these relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and allocating budgets for learning and talent development initiatives.
- Prior experience of working with regional and global cross-functional teams in complex environments undergoing significant transformation and modernisation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to partner, advise and influence at all levels of the business.
- Strategically minded with strong attention to detail.
- A self-starter and able to perform with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable in working at pace in sometimes ambiguous situations with strong project management skills and a solution focused, pragmatic approach.
- Accreditation with psychometric tools is desirable, e.g. Insights Discovery, Hogan.
