At Jacobs, our APAC Energy & Power team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
We are currently looking for a
Lead Waste to Energy Engineer responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the APAC region with specialisation in waste to energy technology including waste management, biomass and power generation. This includes feasibility studies, technology and feedstock assessment, concept design, and Lender's and Owner's Engineer services including review and comment on the designs prepared by our client's suppliers and contractors and SME technical advice during construction and commissioning activities. The role will involve coordination with the Jacobs and project leadership teams and other disciplines to deliver a whole-of-project multi discipline approach to our services. It is expected that the individual will operate in client facing lead roles both in project delivery and business development activities in the Waste to Energy (WTE) and Biomass sectors.
Responsibilities Include
- Guide and direct projects to successful technical outcomes and will be entrusted with ensuring quality of technical deliverables and peer/practice review activities for work prepared by more junior or less experienced colleagues deliverables. This includes participating proactively mentoring staff in the WTE and biomass technology areas and within the generation transition (thermal) technologies community of practice.
- Develop Jacobs capabilities and reputation in Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
- Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identifying the next opportunities and supporting pursuits
- Bid preparation and submittal as required, supporting the section leader, project managers in the delivery of financially successful projects
- Develop and maintain strong key client relationships, act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector
- Maintain regular communication with the Team and Section Lead to ensure alignment with business goals, monitor time and workload to anticipate capacity needs, and balance deliverables with available time.
- Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients
Here's what you'll need
- Substantial experience in managing the design and delivery of large scale Waste to Energy and Biomass projects with broad experience across a range of related technologies which could include waste derived/biogenic feedstock preparation and handling, combustion and flue gas treatment, energy recovery, steam turbines, anaerobic digestion and biogas utilisation, gas engines, sludge incineration and waste management and materials recovery
- Engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical/Processing specialisations
- Experience in business development, bid preparation and submittal, supporting the successful delivery of complex projects.
