Lead Software Engineer - AI-Driven RegTech Startup

Our client is a fast-growing technology company revolutionizing tax compliance and advisory services through intelligent automation. As they build their flagship cloud-based platform from inception, they seek a Lead Software Engineer to architect and deliver their V1 web application. Role

You will own the technical roadmap and execution for a full-stack web application, balancing hands-on development (60%) with technical leadership and mentorship (40%). Working in close partnership with Product Management, you'll establish architectural standards, drive cloud-native development on AWS, and guide multiple agile teams through complex technical challenges. Your responsibilities span system design, code quality enforcement, security implementation for sensitive financial data, and fostering engineering excellence through mentorship and best practices. This position demands both strategic thinking and the ability to roll up your sleeves to solve critical technical problems.

Requirements

We seek candidates with 10+ years of software development experience and 3+ years in technical leadership roles. You should demonstrate expertise in Python backend frameworks (Django/FastAPI/Flask), JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frontend frameworks (React/Next.js), and comprehensive AWS ecosystem knowledge. Essential technical capabilities include RESTful API and microservices architecture, experience with LangGraph for AI-driven workflows, proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL databases, and strong security practices for web applications. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and AI/ML integration will distinguish your candidacy.
