Seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join the Advanced Development R&D team, where you will play a key role in driving the development of next-generation technologies and innovative design solutions for new products. Working within a global, cross-functional environment, you will evaluate emerging technologies, validate concepts, and support the successful integration of new solutions into commercial products.
The client is a leading US MNC within the consumer home appliances industry, specializing in the design, development and manufacture of innovative floor care and home cleaning solutions. With a strong global presence, its products are distributed across more than 100 countries worldwide.
The Singapore office serves as a strategic engineering and innovation hub, supporting global research and development, advanced technology initiatives, and new product development. Working closely with international cross-functional teams, the team plays a key role in bringing next-generation consumer products to market.
The Job
- Lead the research, evaluation, development, and integration of new technologies and design solutions for future products.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners/suppliers to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Present data-driven recommendations, including technical evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, trade-offs, risks, and implementation effort to key stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Global Product Marketing and Engineering teams to validate product concepts and technical feasibility.
- Drive solution development through cross-functional collaboration, ensuring readiness for product implementation.
- Provide technical support to engineering teams during product integration and development.
- Contribute to the development of organizational knowledge and technical capabilities within power electronics and advanced technologies.
The Talent
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in product development, with a proven track record of successfully bringing products to market.
- Strong hands-on expertise in power electronics, including circuit design, analysis, simulation, PCB design, and implementation.
- Solid understanding of power semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs, BJTs, operational amplifiers, gate drivers, fuses, and diodes.
- Proficient in simulation tools such as LTSpice, SPICE, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience in thermal management for high-current electronic systems.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
- Experience in EMC/EMI design and compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas will be advantageous:
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Motor Drive Systems (BLDC, PMDC, or AC motors)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion.
- Knowledge of constant voltage/constant current (CV/CC) battery charging systems.
- Familiarity with intelligent and fast-charging technologies, including Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC) and USB Power Delivery (USB-PD).
