Role Summary
We are hiring a Lead / Senior Web Game Platform Engineer to build and operate a scalable platform for mobile-first HTML5 web games. This role owns the platform layer end-to-end—driving architecture, SDKs, tooling, and performance standards—so multiple game teams can ship quickly, consistently, and with minimal duplication.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web game platform architecture and shared engineering systems.
- Build reusable SDKs, frameworks, libraries, and tooling used across multiple game projects.
- Improve game runtime performance, asset loading, memory optimization, and browser compatibility across devices.
- Develop and enhance build pipelines, deployment workflows, and engineering automation tools.
- Partner with game and compliance teams to translate recurring needs into reusable platform features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform-level and cross-project technical issues.
- Drive best practices in frontend architecture, code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive platform roadmap and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and above in Computer Science, Game / Software Development or related field
- 5+ year of web engineering experience in game development, frontend platforms or high-scale web applications.
- Strong expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js.
- Proven experience building and maintaining SDKs/frameworks used across multiple projects.
- Deep knowledge of modern build systems (Rollup, Webpack, Vite) and performance optimization.
- Strong system design skills for modular, scalable architectures (plugins, lifecycle, dependencies).
- Experience profiling and optimizing performance in mobile web environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with web game engines (e.g. Cocos Creator, Phaser, PixiJS).
- Familiarity with iframe-based integrations and varying host environments.
- Experience with WebGL performance tuning and asset pipelines.
