Lead SAP Basis & Platform Architect (RISE / BTP / SaaS / GenAI)
Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Governance
- Own end-to-end technical architecture for SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA on RISE PCE, BTP platform components, and connected SaaS solutions
- Define and maintain SAP technical standards and establish Technical Design Authority
- Translate SAP ECS Roles & Responsibilities into Clients-specific RACI frameworks
Vendor & Service Management
- Act as primary technical counterpart to SAP ECS for infrastructure, monitoring and capacity management
- Govern AMS Basis provider operations, automation roadmaps, and platform improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with SAP SaaS product teams and third-party vendors for cross-platform integrations
Security, Identity & GRC
- Serve as Basis Tower business owner under GRC governance, managing technical role concepts and Sensitive Access Transactions (SAT)
- Govern privileged IDs through CyberArk/GRC Firefighter with proper workflows and logging
- Integrate SAP platforms with corporate identity stack (Azure AD, BTP CIS/IAG, SIEM platforms)
- Lead audit preparation and coordinate evidence for security, access controls and compliance
GenAI & Automation Strategy
- Define and execute GenAI/Agentic AI strategy using SAP Joule, BTP AI services and enterprise LLM platforms
- Design agentic workflows for incident classification, runbook automation, and system orchestration
- Build roadmap for AI-based automation with clear KPIs and integration with existing ITSM/monitoring tools
Release & Change Management
- Plan and coordinate S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, BTP and infrastructure upgrades with downtime minimization
- Ensure effective use of non-production landscapes for regression, performance and security testing
- Act as CAB member for high-risk changes and AI-driven automation approvals
Required Experience & Qualifications
Must-have:
- 5+ years SAP Basis/Technical Architecture experience with at least one S/4HANA implementation/upgrade
- Strong HANA administration skills (backup/restore, performance, HA/DR)
- Experience with managed SAP hosting (SAP ECS, hyperscalers) and outsourced AMS models
- SAP security & GRC expertise: role concepts, SoD, GRC Access Control, PAM tools
- Proven track record leading release and upgrade programs for large SAP landscapes
GenAI/Agentic AI Skills (Required):
- Practical experience with Generative AI and AI agents in IT operations context
- Understanding of LLM concepts (prompt design, RAG, grounding, hallucination risks) and orchestration patterns
- Experience with SAP Joule/BTP AI services or enterprise LLM platforms (Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI)
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on with SAP BTP (Integration Suite, Event Mesh, API Management)
- SAP SaaS stack exposure (Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors, SAC, Datasphere)
- MLOps/AIOps practices and SIEM/AIOps platform integration
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent
- SAP certifications in Basis/Technology (S/4HANA, HANA, BTP or Security) highly desirable
- Cloud/AI certifications (Azure Architect, SAP BTP AI) advantageous
