LEAD PIPING ENGINEER
PROFILE SUMMARY
Senior Piping Engineer with over 10 years of experience in offshore and marine engineering, including FPSO and floating production installations. Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering piping design solutions from concept through detailed engineering, shipyard execution, and commissioning. Strong technical expertise in offshore piping systems, stress analysis, material selection, and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Extensive exposure to offshore platform and FPSO piping systems
- Solid understanding of shipyard operations for floating installations
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on piping engineering experience within offshore, marine, or FPSO projects
- In in a senior or lead capacity, overseeing engineering teams and coordinating project deliverables
- Practical experience in shipyard environments for fabrication and integration of floating facilities preferred
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Design & Engineering
- Development of Basis of Design documentation aligned with project philosophies and industry standards
- Preparation of detailed technical specifications and material data sheets for valves, fittings, and piping components
- Review and development of PFDs, P&IDs, 3D models, piping layouts, isometric drawings, and as-built documentation
- Design and evaluation of piping supports and structural interfaces
Analysis & Calculations
- Execution and review of piping stress analysis, vibration studies, and surge analysis
- Pressure vessel calculations and design checks
- Clash detection and interface management with structural, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Preparation of engineering calculation reports and technical documentation
Materials & Codes
- Selection of piping materials, valves, and fittings based on process conditions and fluid characteristics
- In-depth knowledge of offshore and marine codes and standards, including ASME B31.1 and B31.3, MSS, NACE, classification society rules, and statutory regulations
- Understanding of welded joint configurations and offshore fabrication standards
Project & Vendor Management
- Participation in HAZID and HAZOP workshops
- Technical review of subcontractor engineering deliverables
- Management of technical queries and coordination of interface documentation
- Preparation of RFQ packages and execution of technical and commercial bid evaluations
- Review of shipyard and vendor drawings, resolving client and classification comments
Interface & Coordination
- Coordination with construction teams to resolve design challenges during fabrication and installation
- Liaison with clients, classification societies, and vendors throughout project lifecycle
- Support project management team in delivering engineering milestones
