Role Overview

The Lead of Business Performance & Planning is responsible for driving commercial performance, strategic planning, and management insight across the firm. This role partners closely with senior leadership, advisory teams, and operations to translate data into actionable insights, improve profitability, and support sustainable growth within an insurance and financial advisory environment.

The role combines performance management, and strategic execution, with a strong focus on adviser productivity, revenue quality, and regulatory-aligned decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual business planning process, including revenue, cost, adviser capacity, and growth initiatives.
  • Develop multi-year financial and business forecasts aligned to the firm's strategic objectives.
  • Support scenario modelling (e.g. adviser growth, product mix, regulatory change, market volatility).

Business Performance & Insights

  • Own performance reporting across the business, including revenue, margins, adviser productivity, persistency, and client outcomes.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and MI for senior leadership and board-level reporting.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide clear recommendations to improve performance.

Adviser & Distribution Performance

  • Partner with advisory leadership to measure and improve adviser performance, capacity, and effectiveness.
  • Analyse product mix, commission structures, and client segmentation to optimise revenue quality and sustainability.
  • Support incentive and remuneration frameworks with robust performance analysis.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and develop a high-performing business performance and planning team.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to executive leadership.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling insights for non-financial stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in business performance, FP&A, commercial, or strategy roles.
  • Experience in adviser-led or distribution-based financial services businesses.
  • Strong forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decision-making.
  • Commercially astute with a strong strategic mindset.
