Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

• Oversee daily laboratory operations, including workflow coordination, task allocation, and staff scheduling.

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory results to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

• Monitor workload distribution and address operational issues to maintain service continuity and efficiency.

• Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control programmes to ensure compliance with laboratory standards and accreditation requirements.

• Manage laboratory inventory, including reagent lot tracking, expiration date monitoring, and stock availability.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and institutional policies, and support audits and inspections.

• Lead validation, verification, and implementation of new methods, instruments, or technologies.

• Supervise, train, and mentor medical technologists, junior staff, and students.

• Provide technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert within the laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.

• Several years of hands-on experience as Medical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory setting.
