A leading data center developer is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to support regional data centre development projects across Asia-Pacific. This is an owner-side, design-focused role, working closely with Engineering Directors on internal design development, consultant oversight, and site planning activities.
About the Role
The role is offered on an initial 12-month contract, with the option to extend or convert to full-time employment based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support Engineering Directors with internal mechanical design development for large-scale data center projects
- Review and provide technical input on mechanical engineering submissions from external consultants
- Support development and refinement of Basis of Design (BOD) documentation
- Contribute to site planning and layout coordination, including constructability and technical feasibility reviews
- Provide design support across all project phases, from concept through detailed design and construction support
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders across multiple regions
- Assist in resolving design and technical issues during project execution
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience in the data center industry
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical design experience is highly preferred (consultancy, developer, or owner-side)
- Solid understanding of data center mechanical systems, including cooling and ventilation solutions
- Candidates must be physically based in Singapore
- Prior project exposure in Australia, India, or Japan is advantageous (Singapore project experience not mandatory)
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment
