Job Purpose:
To lead and supervise the instrumentation team onboard an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all instrumentation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision:Lead and coordinate a team of instrument technicians. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, PTW (Permit to Work), and isolation procedures. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Maintenance & Operations:Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation systems including DCS, ESD, F&G, and PLCs. Calibrate, test, and repair instruments related to pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement. Maintain and troubleshoot fire and gas detection systems and electronic control systems.
- System Management:Ensure all work orders are properly documented and closed in the maintenance management system (e.g., SAP). Assist in reviewing and updating the maintenance plan based on operational feedback and technical analysis.
- Compliance & Safety:.
Act in accordance with HSSE policies and Life Saving Rules. Participate in emergency response drills and contribute during actual emergencies. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops and work areas. - Communication & Reporting: Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth operations. Report deficiencies, propose solutions, and escalate issues when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical College diploma in Mechanical discipline or equivalent
- A minimum of 12 years construction or commissioning experiences in Oil & Gas Industry, especially for Offshore products and systems.
- Preferably gained within FPSO experience will be a strong selection criteria.
- Strong knowledge of control systems, calibration techniques, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar CMMS systems.
