At Aleph, the best solutions start with understanding people deeply. We're a global team of researchers, strategists, designers, and technologists who help organisations, particularly in the public sector, healthcare, and regulated industries, make decisions grounded in real human needs.
We're looking for a Lead, Human-Centered Research to build and lead our research practice. This role owns the first diamond: discovery, sensemaking, and reframing that shape what gets built. You'll uncover the behavioural, social, and environmental factors that drive decision-making and ensure those insights actually change outcomes.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role based in Singapore.
What you'll do
Lead research from problem to recommendation
- Own engagements end-to-end: framing, fieldwork, synthesis, and strategic recommendations
- Go beyond surface findings to uncover root causes-habits, context, social influences, and systemic factors
- Apply methods with rigour: ethnography, contextual inquiry, behavioural research, and mixed-methods where needed
- Reframe problems, not just summarise findings
Make insights land
- Translate research into narratives that move senior stakeholders to action
- Design workshops and artefacts that make people feel the insight
- Stay in the room as decisions get made
Build the practice
- Recruit, mentor, and grow a team of researchers
- Establish standards for rigour, ethics, and quality
- Build research capability within client organisations-not just deliver to them
Work across disciplines
- Collaborate with strategists, service designers, policy advisors, and technologists
- Connect behaviour to broader systems: organisational dynamics, policy, service ecosystems
What we're looking for
- 10+ years in behavioural research, design research, or social research
- Background in research-led consultancy, research agency, academic applied research, or NGO research
- Deep expertise in qualitative methods and sensemaking familiarity with mixed-methods a plus
- Experience with behavioural science frameworks (COM-B, behavioural economics, choice architecture, or similar)
- Track record in complex, regulated environments-government, healthcare, or financial services
- Exceptional synthesis, storytelling, and stakeholder facilitation
- Deep commitment to ethical research practice, particularly with vulnerable populations
Benefits
- Competitive salary (compensation will be based on experience)
- Medical insurance
- A solid team behind you: great people who love what they do
- A culture that promotes learning and knowledge sharing
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth are offered from our in-house Learning @Aleph Academy, Flocket meetups, timely training for skills upgrade, workshops, and conferences.
