Summary
As a key financial business partner and working closely with the Management to drive profitable business growth, you are responsible for financial planning and reporting for the business entities in Asia Pacific region. Being a key member of the finance team, you will drive and coordinate all key financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning by establishing financial models & frameworks, closely monitoring and improving financial performance, building and analysing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts.
- Perform periodic variance analysis of budgeted, forecasted and actual financial performance.
- Own, build and present focused, meaningful and succinct management reports and presentations for the periodic financial performance and variance analysis.
- Identify, help implement and drive financial and operationally relevant key performance indicators across and within respective business units.
- Monitor and highlight trends and business risks with resulting implications, analyse business drivers along with causes of expected / unexpected variances, and provide recommendations to drive efficiency to accomplish strategic initiatives.
Reporting:
- Proactively assume ownership role for all reporting from Asia-Pacific region to the APAC management and Group HQ.
- Ensure adherence to reporting calendar with accurate& timely reporting of periodic results.
- Ensure that ad-hoc requests and reports are sent as per requirements.
- Proactively develop financial models and assist the business to interpret and act on financial/quantitative metrics to improve organizational performance, as well as to develop and measure actionable plans.
Periodic Closing Analytics & Cash Monitoring:
- Participate with accounting team on monthly closing and analytics.
- Monitor cash flows on periodic basis and provide variance analysis vs. cash budgets.
- Proactively develop framework policies and procedures related to financial planning, analysis and reporting, with the aim to produce high quality output, and present to reporting head for approvals & implementation. Guide stakeholders in each department to be able to follow and track adherence as needed.
Special Undertakings:
- Assist the management in ad-hoc, special, tactical or strategic undertakings and projects to develop pre-emptive or out-of-box ideas into viable business plans.
- Lead, manage and interact with specified Group entities and/or stakeholders as may be required for the business from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Qualified finance professional with at least 10+ years of experience.
- Sound grasp of financial modelling concepts and practices.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in the use of financial evaluation methodologies for analysing and evaluating new and existing business across the organisation.
- Ability to apply stringent measures for revenue and expenditures with clear understanding where to find pockets of operational value and having ability to drive changes necessary to create such value.
- Hands-on experience and ability to shift from strategic to tactical as needed and interface with all levels of the company.
- Ability to deliver accurately under pressure, take on ad-hoc & urgent requests and respond with precision.
- A meticulous and articulate professional, possessing good business acumen and a flair for numbers.
- A collaborative partner within the finance team & a team player with other departments.
- Media and digital media experience will be preferable.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office (especially Advanced Excel), ERP and finance related softwares preferred.
