We are seeking a Lead English Teacher (K1) to take full ownership of an existing preschool classroom in a boutique international preschool setting.
This is a hands-on teaching role with full classroom responsibility and regular parent-facing engagement. The role carries a full teaching load, with the Lead designation reflecting ownership, visibility, and accountability rather than reduced teaching time.
This role is best suited to a teacher who is confident leading a classroom independently, enjoys building strong relationships with children and parents, and is comfortable delivering interactive, play-based learning in a highly engaged school community.

Guided by the International Preschool Curriculum (IPC)
Influenced by Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches
Serves a predominantly expatriate parent community
Operates within an owner-led, hands-on environment with strong teacher autonomy
High parent engagement and close day-to-day school-home communication
Lead and manage daily classroom operations for a K1 class of approximately 16 students
Take full ownership of the K1 English classroom, including planning, delivery, documentation, and overall classroom culture
Plan and deliver interactive, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with IPC
Create a warm, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment where children feel secure, involved, and encouraged to participate
Build trust and rapport with parents through clear, professional, and confident communication regarding children's progress and classroom matters
Work collaboratively with the K1/K2 Lead Chinese Teacher, with support from a half-day Assistant Teacher
Maintain classroom safety, structure, routines, and learning documentation
Adapt responsively to classroom and programme needs in a dynamic school setting
ECDA-recognised L2 (English track) certification is mandatory
Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) or equivalent
Minimum 4 to 5 years of preschool group classroom teaching experience
Proven ability to independently own and manage a classroom
Prior experience in an international preschool setting
Strong spoken and written English communication skills
Comfortable engaging with parents regularly and able to build confidence and rapport in a natural, professional manner
Comfortable delivering play-based, inquiry-led, interactive classroom experiences, rather than highly scripted or purely routine-based teaching
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Comfortable working in an owner-led, autonomy-heavy environment with high teacher ownership
Recent hands-on classroom experience will be an advantage
This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to:
enrichment-only teaching
assistant-only roles
teachers who are significantly removed from active classroom practice
profiles that are stronger in support capacity than in independent classroom leadership
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Leave: Approximately 6 weeks of paid leave annually, aligned with the school calendar
Work Location: Central East Singapore
