Lead English Teacher (K1)

Boutique International Preschool (Central East) | Full-Time

We are seeking a Lead English Teacher (K1) to take full ownership of an existing preschool classroom in a boutique international preschool setting.

This is a hands-on teaching role with full classroom responsibility and regular parent-facing engagement.
This is not a reduced-load or floating lead role.

. Boutique international preschool located in Central East Singapore
. Guided by the International Preschool Curriculum (IPC)
. Influenced by Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches
. Serves a predominantly expatriate parent community
. Operates within an owner-led, hands-on environment with strong teacher autonomy

Key Responsibilities

. Lead and manage daily classroom operations for a K1 class (approximately 16 students)
. Take full ownership of the K1 English classroom, including planning, delivery, and documentation
. Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with IPC
. Work collaboratively with the K1/K2 Lead Chinese Teacher, with support from a half-day Assistant Teacher
. Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding children's progress
. Maintain classroom safety, structure, and learning documentation
. Adapt responsively to classroom and programme needs

This role involves a full teaching load.
The lead designation reflects responsibility and ownership, not reduced teaching time.

Requirements

. ECDA-recognised L2 (English track) certification (mandatory)
. Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (DECCE-T or equivalent)
. Minimum 3 years of preschool group classroom teaching experience
. Prior experience in an international preschool environment preferred
. Strong spoken and written English communication skills
. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
. Comfortable working in a play-based, inquiry-led environment with high teacher ownership

Role Details

. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
. Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
. Leave: Approximately 6 weeks of paid leave annually, aligned with the school calendar
. Work Location: Central East Singapore
