SIOUX IN SINGAPORE

Sioux Singapore plays a pivotal role in the Asian market by offering R&D services from our centers across Europe and Asia to customers, leading development teams in Asia, from Singapore

This expansion allows us to meet the changing needs of our domestic and international (OEM) customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical industries.

THE ROLE

You will serve as the local lead mechanical engineer for high-precision systems across semiconductor equipment, precision motion systems, and analytical instrumentation. You work as the front office for Southeast Asian customers while leading engineering teams based in India to deliver complex mechanical submodules and assemblies. Secondly, you work together with system architects from The Netherlands for complex projects, to execute (sub)system development while leading engineering teams based in India.

You bridge customer requirements and system specifications into mechanical designs for e.g. wafer handling systems, precision positioning stages, optical mounting structures, and environmental control modules. This role combines technical leadership with project coordination, requiring you to make critical design decisions while managing multi-site engineering execution and maintaining direct customer relationships throughout the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead mechanical design from concept through detailed engineering for semiconductor equipment and precision instrumentation sub-modules

• Transform customer specifications and system requirements into structured, traceable mechanical design requirements and interface definitions

• Conduct design reviews and defend mechanical architecture decisions to customers and internal stakeholders across international teams
• Apply GD&T standards, DFM/DFA principles, and DFMEA methodologies to ensure manufacturability and reliability of precision assemblies
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverable coordination for Southeast Asian customer projects
• Travel to Netherlands and India facilities for technical alignment, customer meetings, and hands-on collaboration
• Provide local technical support and consultation to regional customers during installation, commissioning, and service phases
• Mentor and guide distributed engineering teams in India on mechanical design execution and quality standards

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline

• 5+ years proven experience in high-tech mechanical engineering for semiconductor equipment or precision mechanics applications
• Demonstrated ability to convert customer inputs and system specifications into structured mechanical requirements and design documentation
• Experience leading concept development phases and making design decisions in multi-stakeholder environments
• Strong proficiency in GD&T application, DFM/DFA principles, and DFMEA execution
• Excellent written English communication for remote collaboration with international engineering teams
• Experience in working together with teams in India as well as teams in Europe / SEA
• Willingness to travel internationally (Netherlands, India) for technical collaboration and customer support

Nice to have

• Project management experience with ability to coordinate deliverables across distributed teams
• Experience with ultra-high precision positioning systems
• Knowledge of semiconductor fab contamination control requirements and particle-free design principles
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, NX, or similar 3D CAD platforms for precision mechanical design
• Understanding of vibration isolation and thermal stability requirements for metrology equipment
• Experience working with Asian manufacturing partners and supply chains
