Lead Engineer

Role Overview

You will be involved in Customer-Assisted Projects as a Senior / Lead System Architect (CSSA/LSA), contributing across the entire system lifecycle—from solution conceptualization and architecture design through to implementation and post-go-live support on the Pega Platform.

The role requires close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders to analyse requirements, design scalable solutions, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and architect Pega BPM applications using Pega 8.x and above, leveraging relevant Pega frameworks.
• Lead solution architecture and technical design within the Pega PRPC environment, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Analyse business and technical requirements, providing end-to-end solutioning, including enhancements, fixes, and performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot application issues, including coding defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
• Design and implement secure and scalable integrations using SOAP, REST, MQ, and HTTP technologies.
• Ensure strong application security, including management of file listeners, email listeners, and access controls.
• Conduct system performance and load testing, and implement optimisation strategies where required.
• Develop and govern reusable assets, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to IT governance standards within the Pega practice.
• Work closely with delivery teams to plan, track, and execute development activities, ensuring delivery meets scope, quality, and timeline expectations.
• Prepare and maintain functional, technical, and integration specifications, in line with defined standards and procedures.
• Support and execute implementation, deployment, and post-implementation activities, including production support.
• Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience with Pega, preferably across CPM, CPMI, SFA, and Pega Marketing frameworks.
• Strong expertise in Pega application architecture, design, and development.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, CI/CD methodologies, and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and monitoring platforms like Dynatrace.
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write functional queries and procedures.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.

Certifications & Nice-to-Have

• Pega CLSA certification is mandatory.
• Good to have Java project experience and sound understanding of Java concepts.
• Good to have exposure to Pega containerisation architecture and design (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
