We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading technology organisation delivering mission-critical software and secure digital solutions across defence, government, and commercial sectors.
As a Lead Engineer, you will drive technical delivery across the full engineering lifecycle-from discovery and architecture design to production deployment-while coaching engineering teams to build strong, sustainable capabilities.
This is a hands-on, consulting role, where you set technical direction, de-risk architecture decisions, and elevate engineering standards across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and architecture design for greenfield and legacy modernisation projects
- Design scalable systems using microservices, event-driven, and API-first architectures
- Drive engineering best practices including TDD, code reviews, refactoring, and technical debt management
- Build and deploy production-grade applications using cloud platforms, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
- Define API contracts, integration patterns, and lead POCs/spikes to validate technical approaches
- Identify technical risks, communicate trade-offs, and ensure delivery momentum
- Establish monitoring and observability frameworks for production systems
- Coach and mentor engineers through pairing, workshops, and hands-on guidance
- Facilitate technical workshops, architecture reviews, and discovery sessions with stakeholders
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience across the full development lifecycle
- Strong experience in system architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices
- Proficiency in CI/CD, DevOps practices, and secure coding (OWASP)
- Experience in microservices, API design, and system integration
- Proven ability to mentor and coach engineering teams
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous, and client-facing environments
- Experience with Singapore Government / GovTech platforms (e.g., GCC, SG Tech Stack, SHIP-HATS)
- Exposure/experience with Singapore Government agencies.
