Job Summary
Lead engineering projects by translating high-level requirements into actionable tasks, managing and developing teams, and delivering cost-effective, reliable analyser system designs that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with project managers to break down high-level requirements into actionable tasks. They provide realistic technical estimates and identify risks.
- Lead team within territory, inclusive of workload distribution, managing performance, coaching, and mentoring/ train new/junior staffs within department.
- Lead team for design and costing on Analyzer System, not limited to Sample Handling System, Analyzers, and Racks/Cabinets/Shelters.
- Implementation of engineering process with best practices, standards, tools, policies, procedures, templates and other shared documentation available from Company.
- Source and evaluate new products, i.e. analyzers, sample system components, etc.
- Support international project through other offices as and when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of any information that are classified as Confidential.
- Assume leadership and management of engineering & project team members assigned and to develop them into proficient individual/team member.
- Ensuring timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and ultimate disposition of information.
- Ensuring integrity of the project and engineering documentation archives in accordance with the Company Procedure.
- Conduct post-project reviews.
- Implementation and maintenance of the lessons learned process.
- Ensuring focus on understanding customer needs and solving of customer problems to improve customer satisfaction.
- Providing sales support on engineering issues for system projects.
- Ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimation for major systems project pursuit.
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- Proficiency in English for effective communication
- Working knowledge of Mandarin due to frequent interaction with China head office, Chinese EPC, and suppliers
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical industries with a good understanding of analytical products and systems
- Task-driven, self-motivated, and positive working attitude with the ability to work independently
- Strong team player capable of working under pressure, willing to travel, and able to work extended hours to meet deadlines
