Job Description

Are you a Data Scientist who enjoys building analytics products rather than just models

This role is well suited to candidates that are full stack data scientists, have experience with MLOps, and can work closely with business stakeholders.

I'm currently partnering with a highly innovative technology company that is investing heavily in AI, advanced analytics and data products. They are looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist who enjoys solving complex business problems, partnering with engineering teams, and influencing how analytics is delivered to customers.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI-powered analytics solutions where your work will directly shape product strategy, customer insights, and the next generation of intelligent applications.

The Opportunity

As a Lead Data Scientist, you'll play a key role in defining how data is transformed into actionable business insights.

Rather than simply building models, you'll be responsible for designing the metrics, analytics frameworks and business logic that power customer-facing products while working closely with business stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical depth with commercial thinking.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing business metrics and analytics frameworks that underpin enterprise data products
  • Translating complex business requirements into clear, scalable metric definitions
  • Partnering with engineering teams to ensure semantic models accurately reflect business logic
  • Designing the analytical story behind dashboards and customer-facing insights
  • Working alongside AI Engineers to evaluate and improve AI-powered analytics capabilities
  • Developing production-quality Python and PySpark solutions
  • Collaborating with Product, Engineering and Data teams to deliver high-impact analytics products
  • Driving best practices across analytics, governance and code quality

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You'll ideally have:

✔ 6-9 years experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics or a similar discipline

✔ Strong Python and PySpark development experience

✔ Experience designing metrics frameworks, KPIs and analytical models

✔ Strong SQL skills for exploratory analysis

✔ Experience partnering closely with software engineering teams

✔ Working knowledge of machine learning workflows and modern data platforms

✔ Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or another quantitative discipline

Nice to Have

Experience working within complex, data-rich environments where analytics products support business decision-making.

Previous experience leading workstreams, mentoring team members or influencing cross-functional stakeholders would also be highly regarded.

Why This Role

This isn't a traditional data science position focused solely on machine learning.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Influence the design of AI-powered analytics products
  • Own the metrics and business logic that drive customer value
  • Work alongside exceptional Product, Engineering and AI teams
  • Solve complex business challenges using modern data technologies
  • Build production-grade analytics that directly impact customers

If you're looking for a role where you can combine data science, product thinking and engineering collaboration to build world-class analytics solutions, this is one of the most exciting opportunities currently available in the market.
