On behalf of our client, a globally renowned Project Management Consultancy, we are seeking an experienced Lead Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of a major Pharmaceutical construction project in Singapore.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with stringent regulatory and quality standards. You will lead site teams, coordinate contractors and subcontractors, and work closely with the client and project leadership to drive successful execution across all phases of construction. The position requires strong technical expertise in pharmaceutical or life sciences facilities, exceptional leadership capability, and a deep understanding of GMP and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for a large-scale Pharmaceutical project.
- Oversee main contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are executed safely and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Drive site safety performance, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate HSE standards.
- Monitor progress against programme, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain schedule.
- Ensure construction works meet stringent GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate closely with design, engineering, commissioning, and validation teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and resource planning to optimise productivity.
- Support commercial management, including change control, claims review, and cost control.
- Prepare and present regular site progress reports to senior stakeholders and client representatives.
- Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure operational readiness.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years experience in construction management, with significant experience delivering Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences facilities in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of GMP environments, regulatory compliance, and cleanroom construction.
- Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary site teams on complex projects.
- Strong understanding of local Singapore construction regulations and HSE requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in fast-track, high-pressure project environments.
