Lead BIM Modeler - Building Drafter

The BIM Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across multiple construction projects. This role ensures that all BIM models, drawings, and engineering designs are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements, specifications, and timelines. The BIM Lead provides technical guidance to the BIM team, drives model quality and compliance with standards, and collaborates closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of design intent and successful project delivery.

Job Responsibilities

. BIM Leadership and Coordination:
. Lead and supervise the BIM team in the creation, development, and maintenance of coordinated 3D models.
. Establish and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across projects.
. Conduct regular model reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.

Model Development and Management:
. Oversee the preparation and revision of BIM models, ensuring alignment with project specifications and design intent.
. Manage model updates based on design changes, site feedback, and coordination requirements.
. Ensure proper version control and data management of BIM files and documentation.

Preparation of Drawings and Documentation:
. Oversee the production of preliminary, construction, and as-built drawings using BIM software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
. Review and approve detailed design documents to support various stages of project execution.

Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
. Lead coordination meetings and resolve clashes between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
. Work closely with engineers, architects, consultants, and project managers to ensure smooth communication and integration of design information.
. Provide technical support and guidance to Project Engineers and Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Control and Compliance:
. Ensure all BIM deliverables meet company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
. Monitor project timelines to ensure timely submission of models and drawings.

Material Quantification and Reporting:
. Oversee material take-offs and quantity calculations derived from BIM models.
. Support cost estimation and procurement planning with accurate model-based data.

. Training and Technology Advancement:
. Mentor and train junior BIM staff to enhance technical capabilities.
. Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies, tools, and industry developments to drive continuous improvement.

Technical Support and Drawing Clarification:
. Provide clear explanations of drawings and models to construction and production teams.
. Review and implement necessary design adjustments to ensure constructability and project efficiency.
