Job Purpose
The Application Expert is responsible for laser application development, laboratory validation, customer application support, and close collaboration with sales, R&D, and customers. This role serves as a technical bridge between internal teams and customers, ensuring successful application testing, process optimization, and solution delivery, particularly for the China and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate laser application testing, laboratory validation, and sample processing activities.
- Design, execute, and analyze laser application experiments; prepare professional technical reports and presentations.
- Support customers with application feasibility studies, process optimization, and technical troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Sales and R&D teams to translate customer requirements into practical application solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and on-site or remote application support when required.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of ultrafast laser systems and related application processes.
- Support new application development and continuous improvement of existing laser processes.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laser applications, laser processing, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with ultrashort pulse (USP) laser applications; femtosecond (fs) laser experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with fs laser systems, galvo systems, and laser application setups.
- Strong knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and systematic problem analysis methods.
- Ability to independently plan experiments, analyze data, and draw technical conclusions.
- Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken; Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Working Conditions
- Based in application laboratory and office environment.
- Occasional travel for customer support, testing, or technical discussions may be required.
