About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Alignment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precision alignment of rotating machinery and mechanical components using advanced laser alignment tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laser alignment on rotating equipment such as main engine, propeller shaft, thruster, motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, fans, and turbines.
- Conduct shaft, coupling, and belt alignments with high accuracy using specialized instruments (e.g., Fluke, Pruftechnik, Fixturlaser, or Easy-Laser systems).
- Diagnose and correct mechanical misalignment issues, vibrations, and related equipment problems.
- Document alignment results and generate comprehensive service or maintenance reports.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment on-site or at client facilities.
- Provide technical recommendations for improving machinery reliability and alignment practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED technical or mechanical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience performing laser alignment on rotating machinery.
- Proficiency with laser alignment tools (e.g., Fluke, Pruftechnik, VibXpert, Easy-Laser, or similar systems).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, precision measurement, and equipment installation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and alignment specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to job sites or customer locations as required.
