ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Samsung Electronics Device Solutions is a global leader in Advanced Packaging Technology. Successful candidates will support the research and development of CPO activities in the Singapore research center together with R&D teams in headquarter Korea and other countries.
ROLE OVERVIEW : Incumbent will take charge of the packaging Lab management and support packaging processdevelopment activities for CPO program of Samsung Electronics Singapore. Key responsibilities include managing laboratory packaging equipment and facility management while maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-functioning laboratory environment. Incumbent will help in the operation of packaging machines of optical tester, active aligner, microscope and other R&D activities such as sample builds. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in packaging tools, and laboratory safety, operations, and management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular operational checks and maintain optimal operating environment for the laboratory.
- Support the proper operation, routine maintenance and repair, regular calibration, and servicing oflaboratory equipment and tools.
- Support equipment training for lab users and supervise them, and address equipment-related troubleshooting.
- Manage tracking and timely procurement of inventory common lab consumables, equipment-attached consumables, and other materials.
- Assist procurement processes with vendors.
- Manage and tracking of prototype samples.
- Responsible for all Laboratory related safety and compliance matters.
- Compile and provide raw data or lab-level test reports to SG Research engineers with activetechnical feedbacks observed during the testing.
- Management and tracking of prototype samples through collaboratingwith Singapore team and other countries of Samsung Electronics (Korea and USA).
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor degree in a science or engineering major like material engineering, electric/electronic engineering, chemistry/physics, etc.
- Min 2 years of experience of clean room lab management of packaging equipment.
- Min 2 years of experience of hand-on skills with some of the optical and electrical packaging equipment like optical tester, active optical 6-axis aligner, wire bonder, die bonder, flip-chip bonder, epoxy dispenser, and UV curing tools, etc.
- Hand-on experience of passive high-precision Pick & Place equipment is a plus.
- Good understanding of optical packaging and optical alignment technologies as well as heterogeneous packaging of photonics IC and electronic IC with advanced packaging technologies.
- Knowledge and experience in CPO and optics processes, integration and characterization.
- Knowledge on packaging materials such as UV epoxies, conductive epoxies, solders, 3D printing materials, polymer, glass, ceramic and magnetic materials.
- Knowledge on active and passive alignment of micro-lens array or Fiber array is a plus.
- Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Literacy in Korean is an added advantage as the role may be required to communicate with HQ team constantly.
