Job Summary
Laboratory Technicians ensure safe, compliant waste management by performing waste segregation, sample analysis, equipment maintenance, and data management in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lab Department with waste segregation and sampling to support effective waste management
- Conduct wastewater sample analyses using methods such as pH measurement, COD, KF Titrator, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, and Bomb Calorimeter to ensure accurate test results
- Maintain laboratory equipment by performing regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure operational reliability
- Record and enter all test results accurately into documentation systems for traceability and reporting
- Evaluate sample quality from new and existing customers to determine waste characteristics for proper handling
- Review test results promptly and provide feedback to support decision-making and quality control
- Communicate effectively within the team and across departments to coordinate laboratory activities
- Perform routine housekeeping and actively participate in 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow safe work procedures and comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure workplace safety
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support laboratory and waste management operations
Required competencies and certifications
- ITE or Diploma in Chemistry or related field (essential for technical knowledge and laboratory tasks)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to manage data and documentation efficiently
- Ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate initiative, positivity, and passion for work to contribute effectively to the team
