This is a 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) position based at our Galaxis office in Singapore and requires onsite attendance five days per week.
As a Lab Technician, you will support product development activities through prototype assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of engineering test equipment. Working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure product quality, reliability, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, build, modification, and testing of prototype mechanical and electronic systems.
- Assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain prototype units and specialized test equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Conduct testing, fault isolation, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist engineers in resolving technical issues and improving product performance and reliability.
- Develop, execute, and document test procedures and results.
- Maintain accurate records of test activities, findings, and technical updates.
- Operate laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters.
- Support updates to technical documentation, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide technical support and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Diploma, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in engineering, technical support, product development, or manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, schematics, and laboratory test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience in product development, R&D, or a regulated industry such as medical technology.
- Knowledge of design verification testing, root cause analysis, and quality systems.
