We are seeking an experienced L3 Specialist - Virtualized Environments to provide advanced technical support and administration for enterprise virtual workplace environments based on Citrix On-Premises, Citrix Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Windows technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for Level 3 incident resolution, infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, system upgrades, patching, architecture changes, and continuous service improvements across a globally distributed environment. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong expertise in Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Azure infrastructure, Windows Server, virtualization, PowerShell automation, profile management, and enterprise infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3 support for virtualized workplace environments based on Citrix On-Premises, Citrix Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
- Handle complex incidents, service requests and escalations requiring advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot Citrix-related issues using appropriate diagnostic tools, including Citrix Director.
- Build, configure, operate and maintain enterprise Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environments.
- Implement architectural and infrastructure changes across Citrix landscapes.
- Set up, administer and maintain Citrix and Azure infrastructure components.
- Perform upgrades and updates of infrastructure components.
- Manage user profile technologies including:
- Windows Roaming Profiles
- Citrix User Profile Management (UPM)
- Microsoft FSLogix
- Support multi-cloud and virtualized infrastructure environments.
- Manage vendor support cases and technical escalations with organisations such as Microsoft, Citrix and HP.
- Perform infrastructure debugging and complex technical problem resolution.
- Carry out periodic and emergency system maintenance, including operating system and infrastructure patching.
- Monitor system health, capacity, performance and infrastructure availability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve service stability, availability and performance.
- Provide hardware support for Client Virtualization infrastructure in collaboration with the local Data Centre team.
- Automate operational and administrative activities using PowerShell and other relevant scripting tools.
- Manage and maintain SSL certificates within the infrastructure environment.
- Package and deploy applications and software using technologies such as SCCM, PowerShell and Chef.
- Evaluate and test new Citrix clients, components and software releases before deployment.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, internal departments and infrastructure teams on technical support activities.
- Work with multiple technical teams to manage daily operations and plan and execute scheduled infrastructure activities.
- Participate in technical team meetings and internal customer discussions.
- Support Windows Terminal Services, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), customer demonstration environments and education cloud environments.
- Prepare and maintain relevant technical documentation, operational procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements:
- More than 6 years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on Citrix administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing Level 3 support for Citrix-based virtual workplace environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, Citrix On-Premises and/or Citrix Cloud.
- Experience configuring and maintaining infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure including:
- Windows Server operating systems
- Server hardware
- Networking
- Authentication technologies
- Group policies
- Infrastructure monitoring
- Security and patch management
- Strong understanding of Citrix architecture and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Experience with Citrix Director for monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Roaming Profiles, Citrix UPM and Microsoft FSLogix.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with software packaging and deployment using SCCM, PowerShell and/or Chef.
- Experience managing SSL certificates and related infrastructure components.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams, functions and operations within a large organisation.
- Ability to independently analyse and resolve complex technical problems involving multiple systems and technologies.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure and business-critical production environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications or equivalent technical training in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Citrix technologies
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Microsoft Azure
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Cloud infrastructure technologies
Working Hours / Shift Requirements:
- The successful candidate will work as part of an operations team supporting a 5 x 24 service model and will rotate between shifts based on operational requirements:
- Shift 1: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM SGT
- Shift 2: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM SGT
- Shift 3: 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM SGT
- The role will also require participation in an on-call rotation during weekends and public holidays.
