Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced technology professional with strong expertise in banking domain solutions, onpremise and cloud platform engineering, database technologies, automation, monitoring tools, and service management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in enterprise-scale data platforms, GCP technologies, Oracle, Unix scripting, and incident/problem management within a missioncritical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Design and deliver end-to-end analytics and data platform solutions using onprem Fabric technologies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system, application, security, event, access, audit, error, and debug logs on onprem Fabric environments.
- Implement and maintain GCP network architecture including load balancers, VPNs, IAM roles, service accounts, and access policies.
- Perform database development and support with strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and performance tuning.
- Execute real-time database migration activities such as DB2 to Oracle migrations and onprem to GCP migrations.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot DoubleTake Cloud replication sets using logs.
- Develop and optimize Unix shell scripts for automation to reduce operational toil.
- Work with Ansible for installation, configuration, provisioning, upgrades, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Utilize ITRS Geneos for extensive monitoring setup, including Gateway and Sampler creations.
Platform, Tools & Delivery Responsibilities
- Use Jira (or similar tools) for backlog management, user stories, bug tracking, and test results.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including steering committee presentations.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to drive long-term efficiencies.
- Support smooth transition of applications to the support team by resolving pending issues.
- Prepare change management documentation and communication plans for stakeholders and end-users.
Service Management Responsibilities
- Manage Service Requests, Incidents, Problems, Changes, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure continuous improvement of service management processes.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing activities.
- Handle user incident tickets across trading floor and back-office applications, ensuring timely updates and knowledge base contributions.
- Manage escalated incidents and collaborate with developers and team members for resolution.
- Support high-impact incident resolution, including participating in incident bridge calls.
- Own problem tickets and ensure timely resolution or escalation to appropriate teams.
- Partner with project managers to ensure supportability of new services and systems introduced into production.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in the banking domain.
- 3+ years experience in onprem Fabric technologies and enterprise data platform design.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database stack: SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms & Reports, performance tuning.
- Proven experience in DB migration projects (DB2 Oracle, onprem GCP).
- Hands-on experience with DoubleTake Cloud replication setups and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Unix scripting capabilities and automation experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Ansible automation.
- Extensive experience using ITRS Geneos (Gateway & Sampler creation).
- Familiarity with Jira or equivalent backlog and workflow management tools.
