Job Summary:
We are looking for a Junior L2 Production Support Engineer with 2+ years of experience in Application/Production Support within the Banking domain. The candidate should have strong knowledge of SQL and Unix/Linux environments, along with experience in incident management, troubleshooting, monitoring, and supporting critical banking applications.
The ideal candidate should be capable of handling production issues, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of banking applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 production support for banking applications and ensure system availability.
- Monitor production environments and respond to incidents within SLA timelines.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related issues.
- Perform SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and issue analysis.
- Work on Unix/Linux commands and shell scripts for log analysis and support activities.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and business teams for issue resolution.
- Handle batch monitoring, job failures, and application alerts.
- Support deployment activities and post-release validation.
- Prepare RCA (Root Cause Analysis) documents for major incidents.
- Participate in shift support and weekend support as required.
- Maintain production support documentation and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with banking and security standards.
Required Skills:
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and database troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux commands and log analysis.
- Experience in application/production support within Banking or Financial Services.
- Knowledge of incident management and ticketing tools.
- Basic understanding of batch processing and job scheduling tools.
- Experience in monitoring production applications and handling critical incidents.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Control-M, Autosys, Splunk, or similar.
- Understanding of banking applications and transaction processing systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Application/Production Support in Banking domain.
Soft Skills:
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts/support rotation.
