L2 Network Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated L2 Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance across all business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide second-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.

• Monitor network performance and ensure network availability and reliability.

• Perform network configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.

• Collaborate with L1 support and other IT teams to resolve escalated issues promptly.

• Assist in network design and implementation projects.

• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and topology diagrams.

• Participate in network capacity planning and performance tuning.

• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to network infrastructure.

Required Expertise

• Strong expertise in IP Networking and SD-WAN technologies (VIPTELA, VERSA, FORTINET).

• Solid understanding of network and endpoint security, especially with FORTINET solutions.

• Experience with firewall management and VPN technologies.

Additional Advantageous Skills

• Work experience or knowledge in Security, Riverbed WAN optimization, and Cloud-based proxy services such as Zscaler and Prisma.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering or network operations support.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
