Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 application support for production systems, handling incidents, service requests, and changes
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues, including performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive measures
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond effectively to production incidents
  • Support system testing, deployments, and releases in coordination with internal teams and vendors
  • Perform BAU support, including handling user requests and following through on issue resolution end-to-end
  • Analyse recurring issues post-BAU to identify patterns and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Enhance system reliability by improving monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Define and track SLAs for application performance and uptime
  • Execute recovery actions (e.g. restarting services, running scripts) and perform minor enhancements or fixes where required
  • Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and external vendors to resolve issues and improve system architecture
  • Document runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational best practices

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience ideal (flexible up to 12 years) in application support / SRE roles
  • Proven experience in L2/L3 production support (mandatory) within financial institutions (banking, securities, fintech preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL (queries, debugging, stored procedures, large data sets)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
  • Familiarity with .NET / C# applications (support/usage level, not pure development)
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed systems in production environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft ecosystem (e.g. Azure, SharePoint, Power Platform)
  • Basic understanding of equities trading lifecycle (buy/sell flows, quantities, calculations, settlement)
  • Ability to translate business processes into system and technical understanding
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident management skills
  • Ability to react effectively in high-pressure situations and manage stakeholders across teams
  • Exposure to SRE practices (not mandatory but advantageous)
  • Knowledge of securities / derivatives back-office systems
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes or certification
  • Experience with Azure tools / Power Platform
  • Strong individual contributor (IC) profile
  • Hands-on, practical problem solver with strong BAU support experience
  • Balanced technical and functional skillset (not purely development-focused)
