Cana Consulting is partnering with a global energy and commodities trading powerhouse to secure a KYC/Onboarding Specialist to join the Global Compliance team for a 6-month maternity cover. This is a fast-paced role requiring professionals who can work independently while collaborating effectively with global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of counterparty onboarding, including data collection, verification, and risk assessment (CDD/EDD) for corporate entities.
- Direct communication with Chinese counterparties and stakeholders; translate and review corporate documents in Mandarin to ensure compliance standards are met.
- Assess complex corporate structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) in accordance with global O&G compliance standards.
- Act as the regional subject matter expert, providing regular updates to the London-based leadership and local business desks.
- Ensure all files are audit-ready and address any gaps in existing counterparty data.
Key Requirements:
- Professional fluency in Mandarin (Written & Spoken) is mandatory to manage the China-based counterparty portfolio.
- Minimum 35 years of end-to-end KYC experience within a Corporate, Commodity Trading, or Oil & Gas environment. (Candidates from Corporate Banking will be considered if they have dealt with complex corporate structures).
- Proven ability to work independently as the sole regional headcount, reporting to an offshore manager.
