A regional wholesale bank is seeking an experienced and driven KYC Lead to head its Client Onboarding and Periodic Review team for private banking clients. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring robust AML/KYC governance, delivering seamless client onboarding, and driving high standards of due diligence across the business. In return, you will receive competitive package of up to SGD 120,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the client onboarding and periodic review function for private banking clients, ensuring compliance with AML/KYC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the KYC team, ensuring delivery against service level agreements, KPIs, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee daily operations for onboarding, periodic reviews, and due diligence, addressing process gaps and implementing enhancements.
- Refine policies, procedures, and workflows to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and governance committees through documentation, reporting, and remediation.
- Deliver AML/CFT training and guidance in collaboration with the MLRO, regional teams, and Group functions.
- Authorize onboarding approvals and KYC cases within delegated authority.
- Engage directly with clients (including site visits) to conduct and validate Customer Due Diligence (CDD).
- Partner with Global Operations, Business Units, and Compliance teams to provide subject matter expertise on AML/KYC requirements.
- Provide strategic and operational support to senior management on risk and compliance matters.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Law, Business, Compliance, or related field.
- 7+ years experience in AML/KYC/CDD, with at least 3 years in a team lead or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, MAS guidelines, and private banking industry practices.
- Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and risk assessment tools.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
