KYC/CDD (Corporate Banking)
Our client, a well-established bank is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced KYC / CDD Specialist to join the Corporate Banking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and reviewing KYC/CDD activities for corporate clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and the Bank's internal policies and standards.
This role will work closely with Relationship Managers, Front Office, Compliance, Operations and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective client onboarding, periodic reviews and ongoing customer due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform KYC/CDD reviews for new and existing corporate banking clients, including client onboarding, periodic reviews and trigger/event-driven reviews.
- Conduct customer risk assessments and ensure appropriate risk classification based on client profile, business activities, ownership structure and geographic exposure.
- Review and verify customer information, including beneficial ownership, source of wealth/funds, business activities and expected account activities.
- Conduct screening and due diligence covering sanctions, PEPs, adverse media and other financial crime risks.
- Analyse complex corporate ownership structures and identify ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) and controlling parties.
- Review and assess supporting documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal requirements.
- Identify potential AML/CFT red flags and escalate unusual or higher-risk cases to Compliance management where appropriate.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and Front Office teams to obtain outstanding information and resolve KYC/CDD deficiencies.
- Support the management of KYC remediation exercises, periodic reviews and client due diligence refreshes.
- Ensure KYC records and documentation are maintained accurately and updated within the Bank's systems.
- Provide guidance to business stakeholders on KYC/CDD requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections and compliance reviews when required.
- Keep abreast of relevant MAS regulations, AML/CFT requirements and industry developments, and assist with the implementation of regulatory changes.
- Contribute to the enhancement of KYC/CDD processes, controls and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- 3-7 years of relevant KYC/CDD, AML or Compliance experience, preferably within a corporate or commercial banking environment.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT, KYC and CDD requirements applicable to corporate banking clients.
- Familiarity with sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgement when reviewing client profiles.
- Knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements and Singapore AML/CFT guidelines will be highly advantageous.
- Relevant compliance certifications such as CAMS, ICA or IBF Compliance qualifications would be an advantage.
