Technical Support Engineer (Kubernetes / Cloud Native)

Location: Singapore (On-site at Customer Premises)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a customer-facing Technical Support Engineer to join our Singapore team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading Kubernetes clusters in production environments.

This role requires working directly at customer sites, providing technical support, conducting proof-of-concept (POC) activities, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and serving as the technical bridge between customers, internal engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Candidates must be able to work independently, communicate effectively with customers, and demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities.

Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR) are strongly preferred. Chinese language proficiency is highly desirable due to frequent communication with Chinese-speaking customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Kubernetes Operations & Support

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in customer environments.
  • Perform Kubernetes cluster upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues related to Kubernetes control plane and worker nodes.
  • Troubleshoot Pod, Node, Container Runtime, Networking, Storage, Ingress, and Service-related issues.
  • Investigate cluster performance, resource utilization, and availability issues.
  • Support containerized application deployments and day-to-day cluster operations.
  • Handle customer incidents, service requests, and technical tickets within agreed SLAs.

Customer-Facing Technical Support

  • Provide on-site technical support, guidance, and troubleshooting for customers.
  • Work closely with customer operations and infrastructure teams to resolve production issues.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical workshops, and POCs.
  • Assist customers in evaluating and implementing Kubernetes and cloud-native solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and act as a key technical advisor.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to address customer requirements.
  • Escalate complex product issues and work with R&D teams to drive timely resolutions.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback, feature requests, and market requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, implementation plans, test reports, solution proposals, and knowledge articles.

Technical Evangelism

  • Participate in technical seminars, partner enablement activities, customer workshops, and industry events.
  • Share best practices around Kubernetes, containers, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Kubernetes administration, cloud-native infrastructure, DevOps, or technical support roles.
  • Experience independently deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience performing Kubernetes cluster upgrades and maintenance activities.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including:
  • Control Plane Components
  • Worker Nodes
  • Pods
  • Services
  • Ingress
  • Storage
  • Networking
  • RBAC
  • Ability to troubleshoot:
  • Node failures
  • Pod failures
  • Cluster networking issues
  • Container runtime issues
  • Performance and resource-related issues
  • Familiarity with Linux system administration.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a support, implementation, or consulting capacity.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites while coordinating effectively with internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and containerd.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Loki.
  • Experience in customer POC delivery and technical workshops.
  • Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
